A live band will take the stage at a party planned at Chinn Park Regional Library in Woodbridge to raise money and awareness for Prince William County’s 10 libraries.

STAFFORD, Va. — What began as a memorial to honor to honor fallen law enforcement members will expand today.

Four new names will join those of fallen Fredericksburg Police Officer Todd Allen Barr who was shot and killed in the line of duty in 2008, and Stafford County Sheriff Deputy Ford Tyson “Toby” Humphrey who was also shot and killed in the line of duty in 1980.

DUMFRIES, Va. — Prince William fire and rescue officials will sit on one side of the table and Dumfries-Triangle Rescue Squad leaders on the other.

That’s the way Prince William County Fire Department Chief Kevin McGee said a special taskforce assembled to review “internal organizational issues” at the Rescue Squad will conduct business. The review panel will be led by Dale City Volunteer Fire Department Chief Christopher Hool who will address Dumfries Chief Charles Derek Ester and Assistant Chief Steven Chasin.

Tim’s Rivershore Restaurant near Dumfries is trading Coca-Cola products for Pepsi. The change of brands is the first in the popular crab shack’s 18-year history.

NORTH STAFFORD, Va. — The bookworm bandits are behind bars facing charges, and employees at Hampton Oaks Elementary School are left to clean up their mess.

Authorities were called to the school at 107 Northampton Boulevard in North Stafford at 1:30 a.m. Sunday after a burglar alarm was triggered.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — A new Sport and Health Club is open at Stonebridge at Potomac Town Center in Woodbridge.

The new $8.5 million facility officially opens today with new state-of-the art, like the Synergy 360 system for upper body workouts, and the TRX suspension training system used by Navy SEALs.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — Residents got an earful Thursday about a new baseball stadium for the Potomac Nationals and the traffic it could bring.

Prince William County officials call the newly proposed 6,000-seat minor league stadium a dream project that will attract even more business to Stonebridge at Potomac Town Center in Woodbridge. The stadium would sit along busy Interstate 95 across from Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center and near a popular Wegmans grocery, which anchors the Stonebridge shopping center.

Sequestration – a dramatic reduction in federal spending that could happen after the first of the New Year – is a hot topic for anyone working for the federal government. On Sept. 25, the Prince William Chamber of Commerce held a special breakfast at the National Museum of the Marine Corps geared toward answering questions of those facing sequestration.
