WASHINGTON, D.C. — Fannie Fitzgerald went to the U.S. Capitol this week for the unveiling of a statue of Frederick Douglass. The retired Prince William County teacher, now 82-years-old with a school in Dale City named after her, was one of the first educators sent to integrate public schools in Prince William.

STAFFORD, Va. — Republicans in Stafford County are set to open their campaign headquarters tonight.

The GOP will hold a ceremony at the Stafford County Victory Center at 2773 Jefferson Davis Highway, Suite 105, in Stafford, at 7 p.m. Scheduled to speak ios Suzanne Obenshain, the wife of GOP Attorney General nominee Mark Obenshain.

A Fresh Focus

I was sitting in the airport a few weeks ago during a long layover when I was lured into one of those stores that has everything from tacky souvenirs to gum and magazines. Since it had been a long day of travel, I decided to treat myself to a magazine for the plane.  Struck by the delicious looking pesto pasta on the cover, I decided to spring for Bon Appétit.

Health officials warn those who traveled through Dulles Airport earlier this month that they could have been exposed to the measles.

Travelers who were in the international airport between 6 and 9 p.m. on Friday, June 7, in concourse A or B, in the International arrivals area, or in the baggage claim area of the main terminal many have been exposed to a person with measles, a statement from the Virginia Department of Health details.
