Officials in the Town of Quantico reversed their illegal position of barring anyone from photographing, or recording audio or video during a public Town Council meeting without the full prior consent of Council.
Councilman Russell Kuhns motioned at the start of the meeting to reverse a decision approved last month by the Council to ban such forms of meeting documentation. Councilman Tom Davis seconded the motion. It passed without the support of Council members Peggy and Alex Alexander.
This morning at 12:17 a.m. Prince William police responded to a call for a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Dumfries Road and Talon Drive.
According to Prince William police, their investigation showed that one driver, a 56-year old Chantilly man – who was driving a 2008 Mercedes S550 – was traveling northbound on Dumfries Road, when they collided head on with another driver, 19-year old Malcolm McGuire – who was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Aveo.
Potomac Health Foundation announced Timothy McCue as its new director of grant programs. As director of grant programs, Mr. McCue will oversee the Foundation’s grant programs.
The Virginia Railway Express (VRE) will launch their new VRE Mobile ticketing application tomorrow.
VRE is the first transportation system to offer an app in the area. Riders will be able to use the app to pay for their fares, but paper tickets will still be sold, said a release.

This morning the Prince William Chamber of Commerce hosted their annual Legislative Wrap-Up breakfast in Woodbridge.
Yesterday morning, Prince William fire and rescue received a call for a fire at a home on Longhorn Drive in Woodbridge.
When arriving on the scene, Prince William fire and rescue stated they saw a fence on fire, and that the flames extended towards the back of the home.
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will host a workshop on Thursday, May 21 to provide information on how small businesses can properly register and compete for business opportunities with the state agency.
VDOT representatives will be present to provide information and answer questions, assisted by representatives from eVa, Virginia’s Electronic Procurement System, and the Department of Small Business Supplier Diversity.
