To celebrate Father’s Day and encourage dads to spend more time with their children, the Prince William County Fatherhood Initiative is hosting “Dad’s Play Day”, a free event that will include games and lunch. The event will take place on Saturday, June 13 at 11am at the A.J. Ferlazzo Building in Woodbridge (15941 Donald Curtis Drive, Woodbridge, VA 22191). “Dad’s Play Day” includes a free lunch and fun activities for dads and their children, including games like basketball, wiffle ball, an obstacle course, ping pong, and water balloon toss, as well as activities like face-painting and arts and crafts.
When fathers are involved in the lives of their children, especially their education, kids learn more, perform better in school, and exhibit healthier behavior, according to the White House’s National Fatherhood Clearinghouse. Children in father-absent homes are almost four times more likely to live in poverty, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Although approximately one of out every three children in America lives in a home without their dad, the active involvement of a father, even if they don’t live with their child, can have a lasting and positive impact.

Elizabeth Via-Gossman is the director of the Manassas Museum System. At the center of the organization is the Manassas Museum in Downtown Manassas.
Through its many exhibits, the museum tells the story of the railroad city from its early beginnings during the Civil War up until today. We wanted to learn more about the inner workings of the Manassas Museum and Via-Grossman took some time out of her day to answer some of our questions.

The incident took place in November 2014 in Woodbridge, according to Prince William police.
According to a Prince William police release, the victim – a 38-year old woman, said that she was stopped at an intersection when Utz pulled beside her vehicle and exposed himself, making obscene sexual gestures.

Those who visit residents of the Quantico Town could soon need a yellow hangtag.
The Town Council is considering new rules that would require residents to obtain a yellow hangtag to place inside of guests’ cars. The hangtags would be obtained from the town’s municipal office on 5th Avenue.
Yesterday morning, Prince William police responded to Prince William Courage, a recreational sports facility, in Woodbridge for a call about a burglary.
According to Prince William police, an employee on scene said to officers that the burglary took place late in the evening on May 18.
