At their meeting on Wednesday, June 10, the Stafford County School Board approved the appointment of a three administrators.  The following individuals were appointed:

George Hummer was selected as the Supervisor of Student Services.  He has been an educator for ten years, beginning his career as a teacher in Spotsylvania County.  In 2012, Mr. Hummer was appointed as an assistant principal at Rodney Thompson Middle School.  He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Radford University with concentrations in chemistry, math and education.  He holds a Master’s of Art in Special Education and another in Educational Leadership from the University of Mary Washington.

The Manassas Regional Airport will become a regular stop for charter service – bringing international tourists to the region.

According to a city release, Air Charter Express (ACE) will begin using the airport as a stop for their passenger division of Freight Runners Express, Inc.

Former Occoquan mayor Earnie Porta finished his own little free library, the “Porta Pagoda” in time for last weekend’s Occoquan Arts and Crafts show.

Porta created and named his little library using the Asian-inspired theme of his front yard rock garden.
