Delegate Richard L. “Rich” Anderson of Woodbridge has been elected Chairman of the Board of the Virginia War Memorial.

Delegate Anderson has represented Virginia’s 51st District (Prince William County) in the House of Delegates since 2010. A native of Roanoke, Va. and a graduate of Virginia Tech and Webster University, he served 30 years on active duty in the US Air Force and retired with the rank of Colonel in 2009.

Woodbridge Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7916 opened its doors to the Prince William community and hosted Congressman Rob Wittman (R-VA First District, Armed Services) . It also recognized Occoquan Police Chief Sheldon Levi for his decades of public service.. In attendance were Elizabeth Quist, Mayor of Occoquan; Pat Sivigny, Vice Mayor; and members of the Occoquan Town Council.

Prince William fire and rescue just sent us details on a house fire that broke out at a home in Bristow. 

On Tuesday, November 1st, at 11:39 a.m., fire and rescue units were dispatched to a structure fire in a single family home located in the 12000 block of Vantage Point Court in Bristow.|

There are hundreds of kids that will show up at school with only a sweatshirt on when they should have a warm coat on. You can drop off your donation at any of the 4 United Bank branches in Prince William- Liberia Road, Balls Ford Road, Lake Ridge and Route 1 Dumfries. And the Prince William County Libraries are also collecting coats at the following full-service locations: Chinn Park, Potomac, Montclair, Central, Bull Run and Haymarket/Gainesville branches. Fire and rescue crews are on the scene of a reported eight-inch gas leak at the intersection of Balls Ford and Wellington roads near Gainesville. 

Police closed the westbound portion of Wellington Road between Balls Ford Road and Gainsford Court so fire and rescue crews could investigate the gas leak.
