Erika Campbell

Erika Campbell was born February 17, 1939 in Usenborn Germany and died on June 25, 2017 in White Post, Virginia surrounded by her family. She is survived by 4 children – Linda, David, Jackie (Ken) and Thomas. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren Christiana (Kim), Joseph (Tara), Norman (Anna Belle) and Samantha (Matthew) and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by 3 siblings – Irmgard, Hotwich and Ditmar and many nieces and nephews living in Germany. She was an avid and talented bowler and a member of the Woodbridge “Prime Timers League” and the team on which she played was the “Be Happy.” She was also an avid gardener a skill that she learned from her mother while living in Germany. She worked for decades at Dart Drug and Lowes. In Germany she attended University and earned her degree to teach Kindergarten. Once she retired she babysat at the St. Paul United Methodist church as longer as she was able.

From Manassas police: 

On June 26, 2017 at approximately 7:54 a.m., the Manassas City Police responded to Sheehy Nissan located at 9010 Liberia Avenue for a report of an armed robbery which just occurred.  The victim stated the offender entered the dealership wearing a mask, displayed a gun, and demanded money.  The suspect then fled the scene in an early model purple Honda Accord with an undisclosed amount of cash.  The offender is described as a Hispanic and was last seen wearing dark colored jeans.  The suspect vehicle was last seen driving north on Centreville Rd.  No injuries were reported during the incident.  Investigation is ongoing. 

On June 26, 2017 at approximately 8:05 a.m., the Manassas City Police responded to Brown’s Kia located at 9030 Liberia Avenue for a report of an attempted burglary. The service manager told police sometime between June 24 and June 26 someone attempted to force entry into the service center garage door. No entry was gained. Investigation is ongoing.

The Manassas Economic Development Authority is prepared to pay $1,500 to recoup $5,000 in public funds.

A $10,000 city grant to the now-closed "The NEW School" stipulated the non-profit had to remain open for five years or pay back the funds.

The now-defunct after-school program for children paid back half of the money. The full grant was meant to be used for scholarships for city children to attend the center's science, technology, engineering, and mathematics program.

From the Stafford sheriff's office: 

Sussman

On Sunday, June 25, 2017 at approximately 5:30pm, deputies from the Stafford Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the Motel 6 located at 401 Warrenton Rd in reference to a drug overdose. Deputies arrived on scene to find a female subject unresponsive.

It was soon discovered that the female was suffering from a heroin overdose. Nasal Narcan was administered at the scene and the female regained consciousness. Evidence of heroin

From Manassas police:

On June 21, 2017, at approximately 0855 hours, The Manassas City Police responded to the intersection of Godwin Drive at Ashton Avenue for a report of an accident with injuries involving a bicycle.

On scene, Officers investigated the incident and it was later determined the cyclist struck the back of a Sports Utility Vehicle, which was stopped at the traffic light. The victim sustained serious injuries and was flown to a local area hospital.
