The School Board of the City of Manassas will still hold its Regular Meeting tonight, Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at 7 pm at City Hall (9027 Center Street). The Public Hearing on the FY2018 Budget will also take place during the meeting, however, because there may be citizens who are unable to attend due to unsafe road conditions in certain areas, the Public Hearing will continue Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 7 pm at City Hall.

On March 7, 2017, at approximately 2:42 PM, Deputy G.P. Gabrielli made contact with a concerned citizen near Motel 6 on Warrenton Road. Deputy Gabrielli was advised that a female had been approached by an unknown male while walking to a nearby convenience store.

SNOW EMERGENCY
The City Manager has determined based on the current weather forecast that a snow emergency will be in effect for the City of Manassas Park from 6 pm, Monday March 13, 2017 until 6 pm, Tuesday March 14, 2017.
Prince William, Virginia – Keep Prince William Beautiful, Prince William County’s leading non-profit organization to inspire individual responsibility and collective action toward a clean, green and vibrant community, announced today the annual Great Prince William Clean Up of Route 1 from Occoquan to Quantico will take place from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2017. On Sunday, April 23, 2017, Keep Prince William Beautiful will host the Ready. Set. Grow! 5k Run for the Earth in historic Occoquan.
Volunteers are needed to pick up litter along Route 1 from Occoquan to Quantico; volunteers will be provided refreshments, a celebratory picnic after the clean-up, and a commemorative t-shirt. The Great Prince William Clean Up is a wonderful volunteer opportunity for church groups, civic associations, businesses and neighborhood groups along the Route 1 corridor, as well as families and concerned citizens. We could get anywhere between three and eight inches of snow from this later winter storm that is slated to impact our region Monday night into Tuesday.

Woodbridge, VA March 12, 2017 — 8:22 a.m. Occoquan-Woodbridge-Lorton Volunteer Department responded to the report of a house fire at 1416 Colchester Road in Woodbridge. Initial units arrived on scene within minutes and reported smoke showing from the attic.

Road crews are preparing for major snowfall to start during the evening commute Monday, and the Virginia Department of Transportation asks that drivers and residents do the same.
