Patricia Ann Paul, age 75, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2017 at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, VA.

She was born on June 16, 1941 in St. Albans, West Virginia to the late Earl E. Cundiff, Sr. and Macil Emma (Pring) Cundiff. Patricia enjoyed the simple things in life; playing BINGO and going to the Charlestown Casinos. She also enjoyed cooking, reading books, puzzles, flowers, tending to her bird feeders, watching her Humming birds and gardening. Her day wasn’t complete if she hadn’t watched “The Wheel” or fed “one eyed Pete” her special squirrel.

Carlos Augusto Hernandez, age 82, of Bristow, Virginia passed away Friday, April 21, 2017 at the Novant Health Haymarket Medical Center.

He was born on September 19, 1934 in Aguada, Puerto Rico, the son of the late Emilio and Filomena (Romaguera) Hernandez. He graduated from the US Naval Academy in 1958, and later retired as a Major in the US Air Force. After his military retirement, he also retired as an engineer after 13 years at the Mitre Corporation. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the Lions Club in Manassas, Virginia.

From the Stafford County Fire and Rescue Department:

Eight students and one tour guide were rescued from the Rappahannock River Saturday evening in a nearly four-hour operation by Stafford County Fire and Rescue firefighters and paramedics assisted by Spotsylvania County and the City of Fredericksburg. Students from the University of Mary Washington were on a guided tour of the river Saturday afternoon when they became separated from the guide after his canoe overturned.

From Prince William police: 

Aggravated Malicious Wounding – On April 21 at 9:53PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 11100 block of Privates Ct in Manassas (20109) to investigate a shooting. When officers arrived at the home, they located the victim, a 27-year-old man of Manassas, suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body.
