Join the New Dominion Choraliers put on a concert to honor the 250th Anniversary of the USA! The music in this choral concert captures the heart and soul of the American spirit through patriotic tunes and songs from the heartland. Joining the chorus are dancers from Dance Etc. School of the Arts and accompaniment from the talented members of Legacy Brass.

This family friendly and FREE event is perfect for young and old. Kids, parents, and grandparents will be familiar with many of the songs in this inspirational program. There are two opportunities to attend: Saturday, May 2 at 7:30 pm or Sunday, May 3 at 3:30 p.m.

Deputies with the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office apprehended a man on Tuesday in connection with the theft of a motor vehicle from a residence in southern Stafford. On October 10, 2017 at approximately 12:22 a.m., a deputy responded to a call regarding the theft of a motor vehicle.


Obituaries

Janet S. Creel, ago 80 of Bealeton, Virginia gained her angel wings on October 10th, 2017 at Fairfax Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Janet was the only child of Claudia and Lewis Edward Smith and was born on March 29th, 1937. She is preceded in death by her parents and her two daughters, Elizabeth Dillman and Pamela Hastings. Janet loved crossword puzzles, watching golf, gardening and bookkeeping but she loved spending time with her family the most. She was a feisty, kind, smart, supportive, amazing, selfless, caring, strong and faithful women who positively impacted everyone she came in contact with. She was also a crazy cat lady that took in every stray that she came across. Our family is left grieving this incredible woman but we are so grateful that we were fortunate enough to call her Mommy and Nanny and we will strive to continue her legacy and make a difference in the world. She is survived by five children; Pattye Crane (Stuart), Blane McGlothlin, Jr. (Sandy), Claudia McGlothlin (Robert), Kimberly Earhart (Justin) and Heather Mullins (Bud); 18 grandchildren, Stuart, Brent, Scott, Michail, Joshua, Quentin, Hunter, Blane, Chelsea, Brian, Eva, Abbie, Grey, Evan, PJ, Clarissa, Brandon and Faith and 1 great-grandchild; Levi. A celebration of her life will be held at Sudley United Methodist Church Saturday at 3 pm on October 14th where burial will follow at the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to her go fund me account. Our family would also like to thank her amazing doctors Dr. Prasanna and Dr. Mahajan they treated our mother like their own and we are very grateful for that.

William (“Goody”) Henry Corum, beloved husband and devoted father, died unexpectedly in an automobile accident while driving to work, on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at the age of 81.

Bill is survived by his wife, Sangie Corum; his 5 children, Ken Omar Rashad, Debbie Garnett, Kimberly Corum, Brian Robinson, and Caitlyn Corum; 8 grandchildren; 2 brothers; Timothy Mooten, and Bernard Mooten; and 1 sister; Joyce Brooks. He was predeceased by his parents James and Marth Corum, his brothers Phillip Corum and Downell Corum and his sisters Ruth Kyles, Bettie Darnaby and Lucretia Williams.

The Manassas Museum, along with other organizations around the Commonwealth, is recognizing the 100th anniversary of World War I. The Forgotten World War: Its Impact at Home is our contribution to this statewide commemoration. In producing this exhibit, we partnered with Prince William County and created a display that focuses the themes of propaganda, music and the spread of the influenza virus among the local population.
