Rehabilitation of the nearly 50-year-old Old Centreville Road bridge over Bull Run has been completed, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

Construction began in January, with bridge traffic reduced from two lanes to one. Traffic was controlled via temporary traffic signals, which allowed the project to be completed more quickly. The bridge reopened to two lanes in late August.

MANASSAS, Va. – Northern Virginia Electric Cooperative’s group of employee volunteers, NOVEC HELPS, will hold its 7th annual Texas Hold’em fundraising poker tournament on Saturday, Oct. 28, at the Prince William County Police Association Hall, 14288 Independent Hill Drive, Manassas. Registration starts at 5:30 p.m. Games start at 6:30 p.m. The top 10 players will win prizes and other participants will win door prizes. Fee: $50 per player if registered before Oct. 20; $60 at the door.

He was born in Washington, DC on February 25, 1943 son of the late Timothy Eugene Krial, SR and Edith Louise Keller Krial. He was a retired Diesel Mechanic for Metro.

John Kenneth Holtzman, 61 of Stafford VA died at Virginia Hospital Center on Friday, October 13, 2017. He was born in the District of Columbia on February 16, 1956 to the late John and Hallie Snyder Holtzman.

John was a truck driver by trade, and in his spare time he enjoyed fishing, watching NASCAR and watching college football “ROLL TIDE”. His true passion in life was being a devoted family man to wife, children, and grandchildren.

Dianne Elizabeth (Thibodeau) Parisi, 69, passed away unexpectedly at her Bristow home on Friday, October 13, 2017. She was the beloved wife of Salvatore Parisi. Born in October 15, 1947, Diane was the dear daughter of the late Joseph & Doris Thibodeau. She was raised and educated in Rhode Island. She graduated from the University of Rhode Island.

Dianne was a research analyst for many years for the CIA until her retirement. She enjoyed working as a volunteer at the Prince William Hospital Thrift Center. When not working, she found joy in reading, traveling and the cherished times spent with family.

Born and raised in Shelley, Idaho, a longtime resident of Virginia, he was a retired welder and former owner of Park Place Restaurant. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, 3 brothers and a sister.

Ahern; her sons Sean D. Ahern and wife Jennifer and Kevin C. Ahern and wife Alison; one sister Rosann Vitti and her six grandchildren Christopher, Michael, Jonathan, Daniel, Eden and Levi. The family will receive friends at Pierce Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 9609 Center Street, Manassas, VA on Friday, October 20, 2017 from 7-9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 10:30 AM in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 12975 Purcell Road, Manassas, VA 20112. Interment at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggest that memorial contributions be made to Catholic Charities of the Arlington Diocese.
