Obituaries

Robert Adrian Willis, 65, of Manassas Park passed away on Thursday, October 12, at his home, surrounded by family.

Born in Washington, DC on March 4, 1952, Robert was an avid fisherman, who relished spending quiet time with his friends in his special fishing locations. Proud to serve his country, Robert joined the U.S. Army and served for several years in the 82nd Airborne Division. Music was an important part of Robert’s life, he loved listening to the blues and taught himself to play guitar. A classic car enthusiast, Robert enjoyed building model cars throughout his life, and was a big NASCAR fan.

We had more than 60 people come to Simmons Hall at Buckhall Volunteer Fire Station to exchange ideas, and to hear from public officials about improvements that could be made to Davis Ford and Yates Ford roads — a major commuter route between Fairfax and Prince William counties.

From police: 

Indecent Exposure – On October 19 at 3:47PM, officers responded to the area of Sir Reynard Ln and Shortbread Way in Bristow (20136) to investigate an indecent exposure. The caller reported to police that she was walking in the above area when she observed an unknown male, possibly a teenager, exposing himself. The caller yelled towards the male who immediately fled on foot. No injuries were reported and no further contact was made.

Join the New Dominion Choraliers put on a concert to honor the 250th Anniversary of the USA! The music in this choral concert captures the heart and soul of the American spirit through patriotic tunes and songs from the heartland. Joining the chorus are dancers from Dance Etc. School of the Arts and accompaniment from the talented members of Legacy Brass.

This family friendly and FREE event is perfect for young and old. Kids, parents, and grandparents will be familiar with many of the songs in this inspirational program. There are two opportunities to attend: Saturday, May 2 at 7:30 pm or Sunday, May 3 at 3:30 p.m.

People whose work times will exceed 11 hours between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Election Day, voters who have business or will be on vacation outside of the county on Election Day, and voters who have a disability or religious obligations don’t have to miss their opportunity to vote in this year’s General Election. They can vote by absentee ballot instead.
