Brandishing a Firearm | Road Rage – On January 7 at 1:12PM, officers responded to the area of Dale Blvd and Birchdale Ave in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a brandishing. The victim, a 39-year-old man, reported to police that he was driving on Brickwood Dr when he observed a silver Dodge Charger speeding and driving recklessly. The driver of the Charger allegedly drove through several stop signs before stopping the vehicle in the middle of the road at the intersection of Brickwood Dr and Brazil Ct. The victim drove his vehicle around the Charger and made eye contact with the driver. The victim continued driving and made no other contact with the other driver. The victim stopped at the intersection of Benita Fitzgerald and Brickwood Dr where the driver of the Charger pulled alongside. At that point, the driver lowered his window and pointed a handgun towards the victim. The suspect immediately drove away with the victim following. The suspect was last seen getting onto I-95 northbound before the victim contacted police. Upon further investigation, officers identified the driver of the Charger as Howard Samual ANDERSON and obtained a warrant for his arrest on January 16.

Harry Irvin “Sonny” Mahon III, 75, of Colonial Beach, Virginia, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at Mary Washington Hospital.
He was born Friday, May 8, 1942 in Fairfax, Virginia to the late Harry Irvin Mahon, Jr. and Margaret Hall Mahon of Lorton, Virginia. Sonny served his country in the United States Navy, retired as a Captain for the Fairfax County Fire Service and was then an electrician at Fort Belvoir.
WOODBRIDGE — Supervisor John Jenkins has asked for a study by the Prince William County Executive’s Office to look at the Board of County Supervisors members’ pay, which has been unchanged for 10 years. Jenkins would like to raise salaries to match those of the elected Supervisors in neighboring Fairfax County.
According to a recent email from the county executive’s office, the average compensation for Fairfax, Stafford, and Loudoun supervisors is $52, 233 per year, with the chairman’s salary averaging $57,167.

To commemorate Black History Month, the Center for the Arts has scheduled Ayeye: A Retrospective of Black History Month, an exhibit from January 30 – March 2 exploring art works by local and regional African-American artists.
Construction on a new diverging diamond interchange is ramping up in Stafford County.
Crews are ready to begin building new bridges at the intersection of Interstate 95 and Courthouse Road, at the center of the county. The diverging diamond interchange will replace a traditional diamond interchange that dates back to the highway’s construction in the 1950s and 60s.
