Planned Parenthood of Metropolitan Washington, DC (PPMW) will host its 2026 Impact Gala on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., dinner, dancing and impactful programming, at the beautiful Waldorf Astoria downtown Washington, DC. The annual event will bring together a stylish crowd of advocates, community leaders, and supporters to raise critical funds for the organization’s “Fight Forward” campaign, which supports access to reproductive health care, education, and advocacy across the region. Along with live music, diner and programming, special guest appearances include actress and activist Sophia Bush, professional soccer champion Ashlyn Harris, and other special invited guests.  Join us for a fabulous evening for an important cause.

MANASSAS — City officials are set to release $2.2 million bond monies to fund the design of the new public safety center on Grant Avenue. 

Hellmuth, Obata + Kassabaum, PC, (HOK) was chosen as the architects of the new building. The firm recently completed buildings in Fairfax County like the county’s public safety headquarters; the Fairfax County McConnell Public Safety Transportation & Operations Center.

STAFFORD — Stafford leaders want to take another comprehensive look at county roadways with the formation of a new working group.

The task force will examine congested areas and unsafe corridors in the county that are in need of improvement and will be made up of members of the Board of County Supervisors who will also appoint members to the group.


Good Morning  – Comcast Cares Day is Saturday, April 21 from 7:30am-1pm at the Georgetown South Community in Manassas.  This wonderful partnership with Leadership Prince William brings together hundreds of volunteers to do supper stuff throughout the community.  Grab your friends, family and colleagues to join in the fun.  Tasks for the day include mulching 45 playgrounds, planting the community garden and window boxes, painting and personalizing 30 picnic tables in the green space but most importantly putting house numbers on the rear of all 840 homes in the community for added security and safety.
