Scott Surovell (D-36) will replace the outgoing Jennifer Wexton, who was elected to Congress earlier this month, as the Democratic caucus whip.
DUMFRIES — Voters in Dumfries will now head to the polls to elect Town Council members in November.
The Dumfries Town Council moved its municipal elections from May to the first Tuesday in November during its November 20 meeting, the first in the new town hall on Main Street. The town becomes the only one of the four in Prince William County, to include Haymarket, Occoquan, and Quantico, to hold municipal elections in November.
DALE CITY — (Press Release) On November 21 at 8:08 p.m., officers responded to a residence located in the 3300 block of Labourn Drive in Dale City to investigate a shooting.
The investigation revealed that the victim and the accused, who are husband and wife, were inside their home in the above area when they became involved in a verbal altercation that escalated.

STAFFORD — (Press Release) Two suspects behind the homicide that occurred on Sunday, November 18, 2018, at the Exxon Station/Mr. B’s Market on Warrenton Road in Stafford County were taken into custody on Wednesday, November 21, 2018, in the area of Harrisburg, Pa. with the aid of the U.S. Marshals Service.
Jules Morgan, 18, of Henrico was wanted out of Stafford for second-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
WOODBRIDGE — A total of 67 citizens gave impassioned pleas for and against the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) during the Prince William County Board of Supervisors meeting Tuesday.
Woodbridge Supervisor Frank Principi put the item on the agenda, urging his fellow Supervisors to declare support for a constitutional amendment introduced in the early 1970s that aimed to give equal rights to women. After hours of testimony from residents, Principi could not get a single one of the supervisors to second his motion.

DALE CITY — One man is charged after someone backed a truck into a 7-Eleven store in Dale City and grabbed the store’s ATM.
The smash and grab happened at 4:11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 20 at the convenience store at 14797 Darbydale Avenue.
