Stafford

Elementary School 18 will be known as Falls Run Elementary School, complete with Foxhounds as its mascot and the colors purple, navy, and gold. In July, officials marked a construction milestone—known as the “topping out” ceremony—at the school’s site located at 580 Stafford Plaza Drive, Fredericksburg. The school will span over 130,000 square feet and house up to 1,070 students.

Elementary School 19 has been named Crow’s Nest Elementary School, with Blue Jays as its mascot and school colors of turquoise, navy, and lime. This school is under construction at a site off Blackhawk Drive, adjacent to Brooke Point High School, in the Aquia Election District.


Fredericksburg

Fredericksburg leaders have given the green light to a major development on Fall Hill Avenue that promises hundreds of new homes and a grocery store unlike anything else in the region.

Prince William

Community groups gathered outside the McCoart Government Building Tuesday evening ahead of a scheduled vote on the Bristow Data Center Campus, calling on the Prince William Board of County Supervisors to delay the decision until the Gainesville District has representation.

Police Blotter

In Spotsylvania, a Child Pornography investigation led to the arrest of 72-year-old Dennis Buchanan. A tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children led authorities to Buchanan’s home on Thurston Lane, where they seized electronic devices. He was charged with three felonies related to possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material. The investigation is ongoing.

In Manassas, police are asking for the public’s help to locate Robert L. Osbourne, who is wanted for Failure to Appear on multiple charges, including Petit Larceny, Possession of a Schedule I/II Substance, Larceny of Vehicle Parts, and False ID to Law Enforcement. Crime Solvers is offering up to $1,000 for tips that lead to his arrest.

Obituaries

Robert “Rob” Raymond Dooley age 49, of Southport, North Carolina passed away peacefully on September 7, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Rob was born on February 14, 1976, in Washington, DC, to Barbara Buczynski and the late Robert E. Dooley.

Rob lived a life marked by generosity, kindness, thoughtfulness, and loyalty. Building relationships and cultivating friendships were essential elements of Rob’s life, evidenced as far back as his high school days in Woodbridge, Virginia. He always showed up for friends and family, whether to buy a drink or bring something he knew they would enjoy.

Manassas
