PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY — Police tell us they took nine trucks off the highways after a recent pop-up inspection at Balls Ford Road and Sudley Road.
Balls Ford Road is the most congested industrial corridor in the county.
Work continues on the effort to bring toll lanes to Interstate 66 between Haymarket and the Capital Beltway.
As weather conditions allow, crews will continue corridor-wide roadway maintenance and address issues as needed, with daily multi-lane closures during daytime and overnight hours on Interstate 66 east and east, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
MANASSAS — The Rooftop Productions presentation of Godspell, the 2012 version, is a joyous celebration of what a true ensemble cast can achieve, together.
The original, classic 1970’s, “Jesusical,” from a young Stephen Schwartz and the late John-Michael Tebelak was retooled, in 2012, as “a masterful retelling of the original sensation with contemporary references and dazzling new arrangements,” according to Musical Theatre International.
ALEXANDRIA — (Press release) Positive train control (PTC) is fully operational on all Virginia Railway Express (VRE) trains, according to the railroad’s Chief Executive Officer Doug Allen.
The safety milestone was achieved April 11, 2019, when each of VRE’s 32 inbound and outbound trains on the Fredericksburg and Manassas lines ran under PTC operation. PTC is designed to automatically control train speeds and movements should an engineer not take suitable action for a given situation.
