The initiative provides essential support to students facing food insecurity, especially as state and federal nutrition programs adjust. The Nighthawk Nests are stocked with groceries, toiletries, and hygiene products—free to all enrolled students—with pantries available on every NOVA campus.

“I’ve been serving Stafford for almost 20 years, building relationships, and it paid off in a big way,” Fredericksburg Free Press reported, quoting newly elected Aquia District Supervisor Maya Guy at a watch party Tuesday night. “As I say, when we come out, we show up and we show out,” added Falmouth District winner Kecia Evans. “So I want us to party like we ain’t never partied before because Democrats are in the house!”

A 59-year-old man was the victim of an armed robbery in Manassas on November 5.
The incident occurred around 10:41 p.m. near Cass Place and Aaron Lane. The victim was approached from behind by a group of men who took money from his pockets. A witness reported that one of the suspects might have been armed.
An attempted armed robbery occurred in Woodbridge on November 2.
A 55-year-old man was approached by an unknown male suspect near Benita Fitzgerald Drive and Broker Lane in Dale City. The suspect displayed a knife and demanded the victim’s property before fleeing on foot. Fortunately, no property was taken, and the victim was unharmed.
The suspect, whose vehicle had been towed earlier, was seen acting suspiciously and was found to have attempted forced entry. He also entered multiple vehicles on the lot, stealing items from some. He faces charges of felony vandalism, breaking and entering with intent to commit larceny, and multiple counts of entering a vehicle without consent.
In other incidents, a 25-year-old Woodbridge driver was charged with DUI and reckless driving after being stopped for speeding on Foxchase Boulevard. Another DUI arrest occurred on I-95, where a 20-year-old Falls Church driver was found swerving and fluctuating speeds. Both drivers exhibited signs of intoxication and were held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
