WOODBRIDGE — Delays on Virginia Railway Express trains have become more common in recent weeks.

On Monday, signal issues and speed restrictions on the commuter railroad’s Manassas Line lead to delays. On the system’s Fredericksburg Line, commuter trains have been made late by freight trains using the line — which take precedence over the commuter trains as the freight railroads own the tracks.

MANASSAS — The annual fundraiser known as Manassas Hamfest returns on June 15 this year. This year’s Hamfest will be held at the Manassas Park Community Center from 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Although visitors occasionally arrive asking for recipes, Hamfest isn’t about cooking.  It’s the annual fundraiser for the Ole Virginia Hams amateur radio club.

FREDERICKSBURG – A new fitness trail in Fredericksburg offers people the chance to get in shape for free.

FREDERICKSBURG — Its race weekend in Fredericksburg as more than 7,000 runners are set to take the course for the Marine Corps Historic Half Marathon.

Event day ceremonies begin on Sunday at 6:30 at a.m. The start line for the race is located adjacent to Wegmans in Central Park.


GAINESVILLE — Police arrested a man in connection to a fatal hit and run crash that killed a 17-year-old boy.

The crash occurred in the area of Sudley and Catharpin Roads near Gainesville on September 22, 2018. A tip received by police in September lead investigators to a vehicle possibly involved in the incident said Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok.
