Last week, the U.S. Supreme Court rendered a decision that has major significance for Virginia and especially for Northern Virginia, in addition to their decision on redistricting.

Few realize that Virginia has a series of uranium lodes that run along the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The largest lode is in Pittsylvania County on the North Carolina border, but a major series of lodes are in Madison, Culpeper and Fauquier Counties at the headwaters of the Occoquan River. The Occoquan is a major source of drinking water for Fairfax and Prince William Counties.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY — Following a national search, the Board of County Supervisors announced the hiring of Christina M. Winn as the Economic Development Director for Prince William County.

Winn comes to Prince William County with more than 20 years of experience managing a wide range of economic development, real estate, marketing and finance initiatives in the public and private sectors.

Mary Catherine Bunner, originally from Grafton, West Virginia passed away surrounded by her loving family on June 23, 2019. She is the daughter of the late William Richard Haislip and Hazel Virginia Paige.

Mary’s survivors include her son: Claude Richard Bunner, Jr. and wife Mary; Grand-sons: Michael Bunner and wife Carol, Mark Bunner and wife Pattie, Shawn Bunner and wife Bridget. She also leaves behind 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren, as well as a brother: Kay Haislip.
