Jeannie was born in Southeast Washington, DC on October 20, 1943 – the daughter of John and Ernestine Stipp.

She lived on Yorktown Road in Bethesda, MD until graduation from Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School in 1961. For two years in the late 1950s, her father’s employer (York Air Conditioning) relocated her family in the Philadelphia area (Drexel Hill, PA). A neighbor, Dick Clark, regularly gave Jeannie tickets to appear on a new television show, Bandstand, where she danced to and enjoyed the teen sensations of that era. Jeannie was a life-long fan of Elvis Presley and, later on, of Alan Jackson, and Scottie McCreery.

Schools

Prince William County, which has the largest of the school divisions in the Potomac Local coverage area with 92,000 students, is headed back to school today.

Buses will pick up some 62,000 students and travel some 56,000 miles in the county. Those yellow, flashing lights to indicate school speed zone limits will also flash once again for the first time since June.

The Stafford and Fredericksburg area served by the Regional Landfill has experienced recent violent thunderstorms with high winds, causing many trees and limbs to fall. The R-Board wants to assist residents with clean-up activities.

Prince William

Prince William County announced it’s now home to five million square feet of data center space.

The new centers are popping up in the western portion of the county, many of them opening with little or no fanfare, opting to keep their locations as private as possible. So far, we’ve seen data center spring up off Prince William Parkway near Gainesville, off Route 55 in Haymarket, as well as new construction for data centers occurring now on Hornbaker Road near Manassas, as well as near the Manassas Regional Airport.
