A recycling program at the R-Board Regional Landfill in Stafford County acts as an alternative to dropping items off at businesses, such as big-box retailers that may charge recycling fees.

The program uses proceeds from electronic recycling to donate to several organizations.


Police said a woman who was high on marijuana drove into a crash scene near Braddock Road on Thanksgiving morning.

At 7:43 a.m. Thursday (Nov. 28), as Virginia State Police were still investigating and working to clear the multi-vehicle crashes (same one caused by the wrong-way DUI driver at 3 a.m.) in the northbound lanes of I-495 in Fairfax County, a vehicle drove into the closed-off scene at the 52 mile marker.

At a city council meeting on November 25, Councilman Mark Wolfe motioned for the resolution and Vice Mayor Pamela Sebesky seconded it. All members except voted yes, except Councilwoman Theresa Coates Ellis, who abstained from the vote.

Roland Ramon Stallings died Sunday, November 17, 2019 at the Sentara Potomac Hospital. Born March 11, 1929, Roland was an Army veteran and beloved father and husband. Roland loved gardening and his favorite place was his home with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Guinevere, daughter, Audrey Williams, and his grandchildren Roderick, Rochelle, Roland Coleman, and Ramon. Roland is predeceased by his son Roland Aubrey, his parents Kate and Cornelius Stallings, as well as his siblings Dorothy Wilkins, Lily Mae, Esther, and Grendel Stallings.
