Business in Manassas is looking up, according to the city’s economic development director.

In fact, there are more jobs available right now in the city than there are people to fill them. “The city is prosperous,” said city economic development director Patrick Small during a city council meeting on Monday, January 27.

Robert “Bob” Remsberg, 89, of Woodbridge, VA. passed away January 25, 2020.  He was born February 22, 1930 in Frederick, MD.  He was a 22-year veteran of the U.S. Army and retired as a CW-4.  He served 2 tours in Korea and 2 tours of Vietnam as a helicopter pilot.  After retirement from the Army, Bob became a business owner in northern Virginia for the following 20 years.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Lois; two sisters, Marianna Shea of Naugatuck, CT. and Rachael L. Ford of Frederick, MD; Three children, Robert Jr of Virginia., Patricia (Jimmy) Smith of Virginia and Michael of Florida.; 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.


Good Morning – The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) needs volunteers who can help 4th-grade students learn to be “Safe at Home!” Volunteers should be at least 55, available during the school day and comfortable with presenting an interactive lesson in a school setting. James Edward Tatum, age 64, passed away unexpectedly on December 30, 2019 at Sentara Hospital in Woodbridge, Virginia.

Jim as he was known by his family and friends, was born on October 10, 1955 in Columbus, Ohio to Woodrow W. and Hattie L. Tatum.

Can you imagine using the shoulder lane on Interstate 95 to get where you’re going in Northern Virginia?

State transportation officials can. In fact, in a process they call “hardening the shoulders,” they’re proposing turning the emergency pull-off area on both the north and southbound sides of the highway into travel lanes.
