The Catholic Charities Mother of Mercy Free Medical Clinic opened its second location Monday in Woodbridge. The clinic will operate entirely on telemedicine during the pandemic.
“The new clinic is a powerful, visible witness to the Gospel of Life. Health care professionals volunteer their time as a labor of love and deliver life-giving, compassionate care to vulnerable men and women in our communities,” said Bishop Michael F. Burbidge, Diocese of Arlington. “I am so pleased that the clinic is able to expand its reach, especially as the nation is experiencing the current public health emergency and access to standard health care services is limited. This is particularly important for those already experiencing hardship.”

The Stafford County Board of Supervisors voted 6-1 to deny a $665,000, 5-year lease for a new voter registrar space.
Aquia District Supervisor Cindy Shelton was the opposing vote.

A new bridge will soon link Fredericksburg to Stafford County.
Virginia Transportation officials awarded a construction contract to a Pennsylvania firm that will reconstruct the Chatham Bridge, which carries vehicles on Route 3 over the Rappahannock River. The bridge provides direct entry to Downtown Fredericksburg, as well as links the city to nearby Chatham Manor, a historic estate, and Ferry Farm, the boyhood home of George Washington.
The Fredericksburg Nationals will be hosting a virtual version of their opening day, on what would have been the first game in their new ballpark on Thursday, April 23 starting at 9 a.m.
