Transportation crews found problems on a two-lane bridge over the Aquia Creek on Rock Hill Chruch Road in Stafford County.
Now, drivers will be detoured around the bridge while repairs are made.
A decision on parking spaces could clear the way for a new Lidl grocery store in North Stafford.
The county Board of Supervisors approved new rules that would require fewer parking spaces at new buildings built in the county. Discount grocer Lidl, which has a location on Warrenton Road in south Stafford, lobbied for the new rules.

Stafford County residents will soon have the ability to explore the number of complaints of racism in Stafford County.
The county Board of Supervisors approved a new Diversity Advisory Coalition that, according to county administrator Fred Pressley, would have the authority to seek and review a number of complaints of alleged racism levied against businesses in the county. The complaints are currently on file at federal and state offices in Washington, D.C., and Richmond, respectively, said Pressley.

On Wednesday, September 2, 2020; Morgan ”Mark” Cook Sr at the age of 64 died at Sentara Medical Center in Woodbridge, Va after battling a long illness.
Morgan Cook was born on June 13, 1956 in Calhoun, Alabama. He graduated from Calhoun High school in 1974 and went on to attend Tuskegee College

William Marvin Years, 55, of Dumfries, Virginia, passed away on August 28, 2020 in Gyeonggi-do, Republic of Korea.
William was born in Canandaigua, New York to Marvin and Karen on December 5, 1964. He went to school at Honeoye Falls-Lima. He married Chonghui on October 16, 1984 in Seoul, Republic of Korea. He graduated from the University of Maryland.
Boaters on the Potomac River spent the Labor Day weekend rallying for President Donald Trump.
On Saturday, September 6, boaters took their “Trump flotilla” to the Aquia Bay in Stafford County, at the confluence of the Aquia Creek and Potomac River. The rally began at 10 a.m. at Hope Springs Marina.
