The Manassas City School Board once again declined to set any dates for a return to in-person learning for most students Tuesday night, citing concerns over increasing COVID-19 cases in the region and across the country.

D.J. Jordan will once again run for a seat in the Virginia House of Delegates.

The Prince William County resident, Republican, and co-author of one of the most-read posts of 2020 here on PLN addressing the defunding of police departments will run for the 31st House District, which includes portions of Prince William and Fauquier counties. The seat is currently held by Delegate Elizabeth Guzman (D), who said she would not seek reelection to the seat to focus on a run for Lt. Governor, a statewide office.

Residents may once again come to the Prince William County Government Center to pay their taxes.

An employee contracted the coronavirus on Wednesday, and the tax payments office on the first floor of the government center, known as the McCoart Building, was closed to the public. The remainder of the government center remained open for business.

A Dumfries man has died after he was shot multiple times by a police officer during a standoff at Four Seasons at Historic Virignia, a gated communtiy just off Route 234.

Officer-Involved Shooting Investigation  – On December 10 at 7:14PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 3600 block of Secret Grove Ct in Dumfries (22025) regarding a suicidal individual.

Heather Mitchell will make another run for Special Election for Virginia’s 2nd House District, which could happen as soon as early January.

This will be the second time Mitchell, a Republican, has campaigned for the seat. She lost in November 2019 to incumbent Jennifer Carroll Foy (D), Prince William County, who has held the seat since 2017.
