Public libraries in the Fredericksburg region are set to reopen to the public, in an limited capacity, on November 11.

But county leaders in Stafford are asking why the Central Rappahannock Regional Library system hasn’t already done so, similar to libraries in neighboring counties. There’s also a discussion about whether or not Stafford would be better off operating its own library system.

A Stafford woman faces felony murder, involuntary manslaughter and child neglect charges in the death of an infant.

On November 12, 2019 at 4:57 p.m. the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office and fire and rescue department were called to an address on Spinnaker Way for a 4-month-old boy that was not breathing. The infant was taken to Stafford Hospital and later flown to VCU Medical Center in Richmond for treatment.

Prince William County, Manassas, Manassas Park, and all the towns now have a Public Defender.

On Wednesday, September 2, Woodbridge District Supervisor Margaret Franklin hosted a virtual forum along with Chief Public Defender Tracey Lenox and Deputy Chief Public Defender Jenny Miller, as well as Occoquan District Supervisor Kenny Boddye and EJ Scott from the Prince William County NAACP.

The speed limit is increasing from 55 mph to 60 mph on several sections of Route 3 and Route 301 in King George County.

New 60 mph speed limit signs are posted today on several sections of Route 301, and new signs will be installed on Route 3 on Monday, Sept. 21, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
