The Community Feeding Taskforce Food Hotline has an urgent need for Spanish-speaking volunteers who can assist staff on weekday afternoons with answering calls to the hotline during the pandemic.
Duties include answering calls from those in need of food, redirecting callers to a food pantry closest to where they live and arranging home deliveries for shut-ins. Training is provided; however, volunteers will work from home and must have their own computer and Internet access.

Prince William police will be out in force this Thanksgiving holiday weekend checking drivers and their passengers have buckled up. This year’s “Click It or Ticket” seatbelt enforcement campaign, which runs through Sunday, Nov. 29.

The Stafford County Board of Supervisors recently passed an ordinance to remove monuments and flag poles from the list of structures exempt from height limitations in the county’s code.
The move comes after an 80-foot-flag pole along Interstate 95, and a Confederate battle flag the flew atop it, sparked years of debate in the region about whether or not to remove the pole and flag. Last month, the Virginia Department of Transportation acquired the private property on which the flag pole sits, along with nine other parcels of land, and removed the flag pole.
Speeding is not a problem on Cardinal Drive in Woodbridge, where a woman was struck and later died after walking her dog on May 1.
The victim, Deborah Lynn Talbot, 50, died two days later at an area hospital. A suspect, 19-year-old Cierra Dickerson, is charged with racing, a form of reckless driving, is scheduled to have a jury trial on February 8, 2021.
