Prince William County has adopted key changes in curbside yard waste collection, as well as new rules for collecting recyclables at apartment buildings
As part of the change, the county’s yard waste program will be seasonal, running from March through December, but will not take effect until October 2021 to allow waste haulers time to equip and staff appropriately.
Deputies recently located a suicidal man and connected him with mental health providers.
On Tuesday, January 19 at 6:19 p.m., deputies were dispatched to an attempted suicide at the Mine Road commuter lot. The witness reported observing a parked vehicle with a hose running from the exhaust pipe into the vehicle’s window. When the witness tried to make contact at the vehicle, the suicidal subject put the vehicle in gear and drove away.
Stafford sheriff’s deputies arrested a driver who committed two separate hit and run incidents. The driver now faces multiple charges.

Armed Robbery – On January 14 at 4:55PM, officers responded to the 2400 block of the Prince William Pkwy in Woodbridge, near a Target store, to investigate a robbery.
The victim, a 30-year-old man, reported to police that he arranged to sell a PlayStation 5 to an unknown individual via the social media app Facebook Messenger. While at the above location, the victim gave the suspect the console to inspect before the transaction was completed.

A Fredericksburg man who was shot on Sunday, January 17 near the 6 Bears and a Goat Brewery in Stafford County has died.
Ely Grimes, 47, was taken to a local hospital following the shooting and later succumbed to his injuries, the county sheriff’ reported on Thursday, January 21.
