It’s called AWS Educate, and it’s billed as the future of learning the ins and outs of cloud computing in Virginia.

This collaboration between Amazon Web Services (AWS) and the state’s K-12 school divisions, the Virginia Community College System (VCCS), and multiple four-year universities is aimed to create opportunities and build pathways to high-skilled and high-wage cloud computing careers for students in Virginia.


The state is investing, and the VRE CEO Doug Allen is excited about plans for a rebuilt Potomac River crossing.

At a VRE Operations Board meeting Friday in Woodbridge, DRPT Director Jennifer Mitchell used those words, “huge” and “transformational” to describe a $1.9 billion project to build a new Long Bridge across the Potomac River.


The computer chip maker’s $3 billion-dollar expansion in Manassas City has brought more business to area hotels, located just outside the city limits.

The plan calls for the demolition of all men’s urinals in every county school.

Stafford County Public Schools Finance and Budget Committee (FABC) reviewed the plan (which can be seen here on page 10 of this PDF from the school division website).
