As the sun rose, Fredericksburg removed the controversial slave auction block.

Crews went to work earlier to remove the concrete block that has been at the corner of Willaim and Charles streets since 1847. The auction block has been the subject of much debate and controversy over the years with many demanding for its removal from public view.


Virignia health officials just sent us this information geared to those who have been out in the community attending multiple rallies and protests in the past week.

They’re warning protestors the coronavirus may easily spread at these protests, and they want to you know where to get tested.

Stafford County needs $131,000 in additional funds if its parks and recreation department is going to operate its annual summer programs.

The county’s parks and rec budget took a hit due to the coronavirus pandemic. Couple that with social distancing rules and the slow reopening of the state under a plan laid out by Gov. Ralph Northam and officials are working on a path forward to safely get more people active again as the summer heats up.

For store workers, social distancing is still mandatory to practice, high touch areas are still going to be constantly disinfected, and employees are still to be given more breaks to wash their hands. Employees are still asked to pre-screen themselves before starting their shifts and if feeling any symptoms, to stay at home.
