We’re on a quest to find the best burger in the Potomac Local coverage area, which includes Prince William and Stafford counties, as well as the cities of Manassas and Manassas Park. Tell us your favorite burger joint in the comments and I’ll check it out.

To get started on this journey, my wife Jocelyn and I met our friends Rod and Jenn from One Degree Capital at Mason Dixon Cafe in Stafford on a Thursday afternoon. Mason Dixon is one of my favorites because it’s a diner in the heart of Stafford County that doesn’t have a diner feel.

STAFFORD — School officials in Stafford County are running out of room.

By 2022, the school division anticipates will run out of seats at its schools, the School Board to call for more funds to build new schools and renovate existing ones.

Stafford county’s School Board is investing in its teachers with the purchase of 500 new Chromebook computers.

The Board voted Tuesday to spend $125,000 on the new machines.

Prince William County is working to come create its new brand identity. Road signs, vehicles, and water towers will feature the new brand ordered by the Board of Supervisors.

Ninety miles south of the county in Richmond, you’ll find a great example of not only how a successful regional brand ID was launched but also how it was adopted by the business owners and residents of the community.

School Board to pay $25,000 to extend Fredericksburg Christian School study

STAFFORD — The Stafford County School Board opted for more time to study the purchase of the old Fredericksburg Christian School.

Elected leaders voted unanimously to extend the original 45-day study period to determine if the building’s current commercial zoning would permit use by the public school division.

Metro funding fix leaves $200 million Route 28 improvements in a lurch

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY — A new bill that fully funds Metro to the tune of $154 million annually means traffic relief on Route 28 could come later than originally planned.

State legislators passed a bill this winter that would, for the first time since its inception, provide a dedicated revenue stream for Washington’s Metro rail system. The move, however, drains more than $100 million in revenues from the Northern Virginia Transportation Authority, charged with improving mobility on area roads and transit systems.
