WOODBRIDGE — In an all-or-nothing move, Corey Stewart says he’ll vote against a road bond if fellow Supervisors don’t also support efforts to provide more funding to parks.

The Prince William Board of County Supervisors will meet tomorrow for the first time since May 14. At the 2 p.m. meeting, Supervisors are expected to take up a discussion that has been brewing all spring — whether or not to petition the circuit court to put two bond referenda on the November ballot: a $400 million roads bond and $200 parks bond.

Members of the Freedom Museum in the Manassas Regional Airport joined members of the Stonewall Jackson Senior High School Air Force JROTC, who all presented the Brentsville District Supervisor with not only a U.S. flag for her office, but also flags from every branch of the U.S. military.

FREDERICKSBURG — Officials will reignite talks of an outer connector road, a bypass that would help alleviate congestion on Interstate 95 in Fredericksburg region.

There are several options for an outer connector, with some plans starting the road at I-95 at Massaponnax and taking it west through Spotsylvania County, crossing the Rappahannock River into Stafford County, and then reconnecting to I-95 at Stafford’s Centreport Parkway, near the county’s regional airport.

STAFFORD COUNTY — A total of 223 planned townhouses is what did in a rezoning request on Route 17.

The Stafford County Planning Commission on May 29 voted to deny rezoning 163 acres of land across from a Walmart on Route 17 in the Hartwood section of Stafford County, and next to the Cardinal Forest subdivision. The request will now move on to the Board of Supervisors where a final decision will be made.
