At 12:22 p.m., a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located 7 miles southwest of Montclair, or 8 miles southwest of Dale City, moving northeast at 35 mph.
Flames went up and a sprinkler system activated at a Stafford County apartment complex.
Fire crews were called Friday, April 11, 2020, at 6:22 a.m., to 855 Abberley Drive, near the Cavalier Family Skating Center, for a report of a fire in a third-floor apartment.
Monday is going to be a very windy and stormy day in our area. A high-wind advisory will be in effect for our area from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, April 12.

The coronavirus is expected to take its toll on the Fredericksburg City budget.
City Manager Timothy Baroody is excepted to announce at a city council meeting on Tuesday that, since the economic shutdown, the city could lose as much as $8 million in revenue.

Illegal drugs made their way inside the Rappahannock Regional Jail in Stafford County, and now multiple inmates face charges.
A joint investigation by the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit (SIU) and the Rappahannock Regional Jail’s Gang Unit has been investigating numerous individuals who were involved in attempting to have illegal drugs smuggled into the jail through the mail.
Many of us are now working from home due to the coronavirus pandemic.
But that doesn’t mean we should forget the people in our work lives who make our days better, and our jobs a little easier.
Road crews will be out working on Route 1 in Stafford County for the next three weeks.
Drivers will see mobile, daytime lane closures between Truslow, and American Legion/Eskimo Hill roads as crews will work to clean roadside shoulders and ditches to improve drainage. They’ll also be laying down a fresh layer of stone along the shoulder of the road, the Virginia Department of Transportation said.
Prince William County residents are getting a look at how much their property taxes could increase in the coming year.
The Board of County Supervisors on Tuesday will hold a public hearing on the county’s proposed $1.4 billion budget. That’s a 6.5 percent increase over the previous year’s budget.
