Fire Kills One in Triangle House Blaze, Firefighter Injured

One person is dead and a firefighter injured after a house fire on Triangle Street Sunday evening.

Firefighters arrived around 7:14 p.m. to find flames coming from the side and rear of a single-family home in the 18000 block. While battling the blaze, crews discovered a deceased individual outside the home. The person’s identity and cause of death will be determined by the state medical examiner.

Commercial Fire Damages Garages in Fredericksburg, Dog Rescued

Firefighters from Fredericksburg and neighboring counties battled a commercial fire Monday morning on Princess Anne Street. The blaze damaged five garage bays and sent thick smoke into the air behind the old Coca-Cola building.

Crews arrived just after 10 a.m. and found flames coming from two garage units. They quickly deployed hose lines and cut into the roof to help control the fire. A dog was rescued from the scene, and no injuries were reported.

Despite Shutdown, Marine Corps Museum Opens to Celebrate Marines’ 250th Birthday

“The National Museum of the Marine Corps will reopen Monday – despite the ongoing federal government shutdown – to celebrate the Corps’ 250th birthday,” Prince William Times reported. “A cake-cutting ceremony will take place on Monday, Nov. 10 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Cake will be served to everyone.”

The public is invited to attend the free, daylong celebration at the National Museum of the Marine Corps in Triangle, featuring performances by “The President’s Own” Marine Band, activities for all ages, and limited-edition challenge coin hunts throughout Semper Fidelis Memorial Park. Outside of Monday’s special reopening, the museum remains closed due to the shutdown.

Fredericksburg Main Street Unveils First Commemorative Ornament Featuring Goolrick’s

“It’s finally here! Our VERY first commemorative ornament,” Fredericksburg Main Street announced. “This year’s design features the iconic Goolrick’s, a downtown legend that has been part of Fredericksburg’s story for generations.”

Each ornament costs $30, with proceeds supporting Fredericksburg Main Street’s programs, events, and downtown beautification projects. The ornaments are available for local pickup at the Visitor Center, shipping, or in person this Saturday at the Fredericksburg Tree Lighting — while supplies last.

“We’re excited to bring our community together for a day of storytelling, performances, food, and cultural displays that celebrate the beauty of our diverse community,” Stafford County Public Schools announced. “This event showcases the many cultures that make Stafford County such a vibrant place to live and learn.”

The 4th Annual Stafford Schools Multicultural Fair will take place on Saturday, November 15, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Mountain View High School. Families and community members are invited to attend this free event celebrating diversity and inclusion across the school division.

Manassas City Public Schools Closed for 2 Days Following Cybersecurity Incident

“A cyber security incident is impacting MCPS operations,” Manassas City School Board Member Sara Brescia announced. “There will be NO SCHOOL tomorrow, Monday November 10th. Tuesday November 11th is a scheduled holiday. Students should prepare to return to class on Wednesday November 12th unless informed otherwise.”

The closure affects all Manassas City Public Schools on Monday and Tuesday, November 10 and 11, 2025. While the division had already planned to close on Veterans Day, officials cited a cybersecurity issue as the reason for the additional day off. No official statement has yet been released by the school division.

A brisk northwest breeze will keep highs in the 40s and low 50s Monday, with wind chills making it feel even colder. Monday night drops below freezing for many, setting the stage for a chilly Veterans Day with highs only in the mid-40s and gusts up to 25 mph.

All Local Schools Closed Tuesday, November 11 for Veterans Day

All public schools in Stafford County, Prince William County, Fredericksburg City, Manassas City, and Manassas Park City will be closed on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, in observance of Veterans Day, as announced by the school divisions.

Regular classes and activities will resume on Wednesday, November 12. School offices and administrative buildings may have varied operating hours; families are encouraged to check their division’s website for details: Prince William County, Stafford County, Fredericksburg City, Manassas City, and Manassas Park City.
