Fredericksburg

“A person reported that their luggage rack was stolen from the top of their vehicle in the 1200 block of Gateway Boulevard,” Fredericksburg Police reported. “In separate incidents, individuals in the 1000 block of Sam Perry Boulevard and the 3100 block of Plank Road reported that their credit cards were stolen.”

Among those charged were Dominique Kane Vinson, 30, of Stafford, for failure to comply with a support obligation, and Jason Duane Brown, 38, of Stafford, and Guillermo Antonio Medrano, 44, of Fairfax, both charged with possession of a Schedule I or II controlled substance.


Traffic

“The southbound-running 95 Express Lanes will be closed between the exit for Dale Boulevard (Route 784) and the exit for Route 234 (Dumfries/Manassas) for Neabsco Creek bridge-related geotechnical work,” the Virginia Department of Transportation announced. “The full closure will take place from 10 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, to 1 a.m. Friday, Oct. 31, weather permitting.”

“During the closure, the Opitz Boulevard ramp and the southbound I-95 general purpose lanes ramp to the southbound 95 Express Lanes will also be closed,” VDOT stated. “Traffic will be diverted to the southbound I-95 general purpose lanes via the flyover ramp providing access to the Dale Boulevard interchange.”

“Only by looking at the whole picture can we achieve peace,” said Anthony Solomon, president of Ner Shalom Temple in Woodbridge, during a discussion on peace and justice among faith leaders, InsideNoVa reported. “There can be no sustainable peace without justice.”

“When we talk about peace, we first have to conquer our own mind,” said Devinder Singh of the Sikh Center of Virginia. “It is the biggest issue that stands in the middle of peace.”

“Closing a restaurant is never easy. This was a business decision and is not a reflection of the management or staff,” Bloomin’ Brands spokesperson Elizabeth Daly told the Prince William Times. “We appreciate the community’s support over the past 21 years and hope to see them in our Fairfax restaurant.”

The Bonefish Grill in Gainesville — known for its popular “Bang Bang Shrimp” — closed suddenly on Sunday, October 26, after more than two decades in business. Employees were seen packing up items the next day, and the restaurant’s signage was removed from its building at 7611 Somerset Crossing Drive.


Fredericksburg

“Customer experience is at the heart of what we do at Fredericksburg Regional Transit, as our mission is to best serve the needs of the community,” Director of Public Transit and Transportation Jamie Jackson said. “We are confident that the upcoming changes to the Stafford Routes will help us achieve this goal by increasing the quality of our service.”

Fredericksburg Regional Transit (FXBGO!) announced that beginning December 1, 2025, Stafford County bus routes will be realigned and renamed to use numbered designations. The changes, developed through community feedback during the Transit Strategic Plan, aim to simplify route identification, reduce travel times, and better connect residents to key destinations across Stafford County. Updated maps and schedules will be available in November at Central Station and on the FXBGO! website.

County Executive Chris Shorter appointed Dr. Hart as Deputy County Executive for Government Operations, Performance, and Innovation, effective November 10, 2025. In her new role, Hart will oversee departments including Facilities and Fleet Management, Human Resources, Information Technology, Strategic Planning, Performance Management, and Procurement Services, advancing operational excellence and innovation across county government.

“Mr. Hill has previously been convicted of acts of domestic violence stemming from an incident that occurred in 2019 involving a different female victim,” The Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney announced. “Mr. Agee subjected his victim to years of threats and physical harm until she finally had the courage to report to what was happening to law enforcement.”

“Domestic violence is one of the leading causes of homicide across the nation. A recent study has shown that victims of strangulation are more than 750 times more likely to become victims of either attempted or completed homicides. My office takes domestic violence cases very seriously and will vigorously pursue justice for victims,” Commonwealth’s Attorney Amy Ashworth stated.

Construction crews are putting the final touches on Hartwood High School, Stafford County’s sixth and largest high school, slated to open to students in the fall of 2026.
