A Honduran national was sentenced for illegally reentering the U.S. and failing to register as a sex offender, and a Dumfries man pleaded guilty to fraudulently obtaining COVID-19 relief funds. Original Post – Feb. 4, 2025: The Stafford County Simply Perfect Wedding Expo is coming up on February 8, 2025, at the Holiday Inn and Conference Center in Fredericksburg! This event is a must for couples planning their big day, featuring top wedding vendors, venues, florists, caterers, photographers, and more—all in one place.
The scholarship provides financial assistance to students attending Virginia colleges and universities who are majoring in criminal justice, excluding those pursuing a law degree or legal career. Applicants must obtain a letter of recommendation from their resident sheriff before applying.
Prince William County residents must contact the Sheriff’s Office by April 4, 2025, to schedule an appointment with Sheriff Hill for the recommendation. The deadline to submit the online application and required documents is May 1, 2025. More details and application materials are available on the VSI website.

Fatal Crash Investigation Nokesville Rd. & Sowder Village Sq., Nokesville: On February 6 at 5:48 AM, crash investigators responded to the area of Nokesville Rd. and Sowder Village Sq. in Nokesville to investigate a fatal pedestrian crash. The investigation revealed that the driver of a 2024 Nissan Sentra was traveling southbound on Nokesville Rd. when the vehicle struck a pedestrian who was attempting to cross the road outside of a crosswalk while wearing dark-colored clothing. The pedestrian was subsequently struck by a 2005 Mazda 6, also traveling southbound on Nokesville Rd.

Pullman is a lovable, playful dog in need of a second chance at a forever home. Born at the Manassas City Animal Adoption Center in August 2021, Pullman was one of ten siblings and was adopted when he was just three months old. Recently, he was found as a stray in Fairfax County, and despite efforts to contact his previous owner, no one has come forward to claim him.
We know that Pullman’s mother was a boxer, and DNA tests from his littermates reveal he also has Cane Corso in his lineage. He’s a big, affectionate pup with plenty of energy and love to give.
