Armed Robbery – On March 29 at 1:41PM, officers were notified of a robbery that was reported to have occurred in the area of Wabash Pl and Worchester Dr in Woodbridge (22193) on March 27 at approximately 1:00PM. The victim, a 20-year-old man, reported to police that he made arrangements to sell multiple pairs of shoes in the above area to an unknown party via social media. During the encounter, the unknown party charged at the victim, knocking the victim to the ground. Once on the ground, a second suspect approached the victim, brandished a firearm, and demanded the victim’s property. The two suspects assaulted the victim before fleeing with a pair of shoes. The victim sought treatment for minor injuries and reported the incident to police a few days later.

Black male, between 18-25 years of age with a goatee Last seen wearing a navy-blue track suit and black hat
Black male, with a heavy build
Last seen wearing a ski mask, black shirt, and black gloves
Vandalism – On March 29 at 4:55PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 13600 block of Choir St in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a destruction of property. The homeowner reported to police that sometime between 10:00PM on March 27 and 1:30PM on March 29, their home and two vehicles were vandalized. The investigation revealed that the homeowner’s two vehicles and home were either keyed or spray painted with racial slurs and derogatory language. No other property damage was immediately reported.

ASSAULT
Royal Crescent Way, 3/29, 4:25 p.m. Deputies responded for a report of an assault. The caller reported a firearm was involved in the incident. It was determined the victim and suspect, Jack Miller II, 49, of Fredericksburg, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated when Miller assaulted the victim. He was arrested for two counts of assault. Miller was released on an unsecured bond.

Johannes F. Morgenstern, age (83), a Field Service Engineer assigned as a Boeing Liaison to Marine Helicopter Squadron One for well over 44 years, died March 23, 2021.
Mr. Morgenstern immigrated from Germany in early 1956. After a year of work for Trans-world Airlines in Washington DC he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force as a aircraft mechanic and crew chief. After honorable discharge in early 1961 he attended at the Northrop University in California, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Aircraft maintenance engineering in the summer of 1964. He was hired by Boeing-Vertol Company in September 1964 and became a field service engineer in support of the CH-46 Helicopters, used by the Navy and Marine Corps since mid-1964.
In his assignments he supported those helicopters in North Carolina, on shipboard assignments during vertical replenishment missions in Naples, Italy and during the Viet Nam war in 1968.
He has lived in Triangle, VA for the past 45 years where he has been the sole Boeing Liaison to the presidential helicopter squadron (HMX-1) and accompanied the aircraft, when deployed in support of presidential visits, throughout the United States and, occasionally, overseas.
He was a sailing enthusiast, for most of his life and devoted many years to the teaching of military personnel to “skipper” 19 foot Lightning sailboats at the Quantico, Marine Corps Base in Virginia. He was the Commodore of the Quantico Yacht Club for many years, a member of the Helicopter Society and Marine Corps Aviation Association. He enjoyed Music and Model Trains and played an accordion as well as a Home Organ.
Survivors include his wife of (59) years, Sarah E. Hitchens Morgenstern, one Son,
John-Richard Morgenstern & Wife Michelle and four Grandchildren. Sherry-Ann & her husband Christian, Flint, Lawton and Jessica who live in Spotsylvania, VA.
Services are private and the family will be having a Celebration of Life in the next few months, date to follow.

An intoxicated driver was removed from the roadway yesterday by Stafford deputies after a citizen reported her egregious driving behavior.
At 10:01 a.m. yesterday, the Emergency Communications Center received an emergency call for a silver Mercedes swerving all over the road, crossing into oncoming traffic and occasionally stopping in the middle of the road.
Deputy A.W. Sypolt located the vehicle near Enon Road and Wyatt Lane and attempted a traffic stop. The driver continued along Enon Road, crossing over the double yellow before finally stopping in traffic at the intersection with Jefferson Davis Highway.
