The City of Manassas school board has appointed Kimberly Buckeit as the new principal of Metz Middle School in Manassas.
Buckheit is currently principal at a middle school in Maine – where she has worked since 2004, said a release.

According to VDOT, the lot was observed and there was a survey given to users of the lot that slug using the HOV lanes that helped them to determine that changes needed to be made.

On May 29, Stafford County alongside the Stafford sheriff’s office will hold a ceremony to dedicate the Lake Mooney Reservoir to the late Stafford Deputy Jason Mooney.
According to a release, Mooney was killed in an accident on I-95 after responding to an emergency call on duty in October 2007.

Osbourn High School’s performing arts department was given the Grammy Foundation Signature Enterprise Award for their work with students on music education.
During a ceremony, members of the department received the award, along with a $5,500 check to help fund future music programs, said a Manassas City Public Schools release.
The food distribution industry is expanding in Prince William, as Reinhart Foodservice – the 5th largest food distributor in the United States – announced they would build a distribution hub in the county.
According to a release from the Prince William County Economic Development Department, Reinhart will be investing in a facility in the county, and bringing in 100 new jobs.

Expect to see some changes on the roadways in Gainesville over the next few weeks.
As part of a $230 million project, starting overnight on May 26, traffic traveling on the southbound lanes on Route 29 between I-66 and Linton Hall Road will now be moved on to the newly built bridge, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT). The new bridge crosses over the railroad track.
