Water’s End Brewery will open this August in Lake Ridge. It will join a host of new breweries in Prince William County.

Josh Fournelle, of Waters End Brewery, answered our questions.

James Aubrey Brown, IV, 40, of Woodbridge, who was convicted by a federal jury on charges of attempted coercion and enticement of a minor on March 3, was sentenced today to 10 years in prison for his crimes. Brown was also sentenced to five years of supervised release and ordered to register as a sex offender upon release from prison.

A plan to seek requests for proposals to outsource the management of Prince William County’s Public Libraries is dead.

The county’s Board of Supervisors voted 7-1 on Tuesday to kill the measure proposed this past spring by Gainesville Supervisor Peter Candland. He gave the dissenting vote.

The Dumfries Town Council on Tuesday struck down a motion to pass a resolution demanding the  Virginia Department of Environmental Quality to require Dominion to haul away toxic coal ash from Possum Point Power Station on the Potomac River.

The utility is in the process of consolidating water and toxic coal ash – a by-product produced when the power plant burned coal from 1947 to 2003 before it converted to gas — from four coal ash ponds into one lined pond.
