From OWL Volunteer Fire Department: 

10:10 a.m. Occoquan-Woodbridge-Lorton Volunteer Firefighters responded to the report of a condominium fire at 12841 Cara Drive Woodbridge. OWL VFD arrived on scene within minutes and saw smoke coming from the eaves of a three story condo unit. Crews quickly contained a small fire to the attic and extinguished within few minutes of arrival.  There were no injuries.


Traffic

Work is underway to bury utility lines at Prince William Parkway and Minnieville Road,

Once buried, crews will move an out-of-place concrete traffic island on Prince William Parkway east and move it to the right, as well as move a merge lane that carries drivers turning right onto the parkway from Minniville Road.

Hey back way commuters who use Aden Road to Fitzwater Drive to get to Stafford County and points south: this will delay your trip.

A blue sedan went into a ditch while headed east on Aden Road, at the intersection of Parkgate Drive. The accident scene is just east of a four-way stop at Aden that causes a major backup for drivers on Aden Road ( the country).


When you drive by the Sports Authority on Wellington Road in Gainesville, you’ll notice a “going out of business” sign.

It hits you that the staple sporting goods store that has been around in shopping malls since you were a child is closing. It was the go-to place for sporting goods, and clothing outfitter for gym teachers everywhere.

Elections officials in Prince William County want more people to vote absentee.

The Office will hold an information session Saturday, June 11, 2016, at 9 a.m. at the Prince William County Government Center McCoart Building.


From Prince William police: 

Murder Investigation *ARREST – On June 8, detectives from the Homicide Unit identified the suspect involved in the murder of Harold Woodrow Hall which occurred at a residence located in the 2100 block of West Longview Dr in Woodbridge on November 20, 2015. The preliminary investigation into the incident alleged that the suspect, identified as Eric Ricardo DICKERSON, fatally stabbed the victim following an altercation between the two parties. Following the encounter, the suspect also stole property from the victim including the victim’s vehicle and credit cards. The suspect and victim are known to one another. On June 9, members of the U.S. Marshals’ Fugitive Task Force located the suspect at his home in Woodbridge where he was arrested without incident.
