PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. — First Mount Zion Baptiste Church celebrated their 150th anniversary.
The theme of the April 30 celebration, “ A Journey of Gratitude, Joy and Faith,” ushered in packed 10 a.m. service of both parishioners and political dignitaries. Pastor Dr. Luke E. Torian has served the congregation and community since 1995, where membership grew from 650 to over 4,300 members.

On May 5, 2017, at 4:23 p.m., a citizen called to report a blue Ford pickup truck in the area of the Blue and Gray Parkway and Kings Highway that was swerving and drove into a ditch. Deputy D.W. Fetterolf responded and observed a vehicle, matching the description provided, stopped at a red light on Cool Springs Road waiting to make a left turn onto Butler Road.

Armed Robbery At 2:15 a.m. on May 8, 2017, The Manassas City Police responded to 7-Eleven, located at 10438 Dumfries Rd, for a report of an armed robbery. The store clerk told police a male subject entered the store with his face covered, displayed a handgun, and demanded money. MANASSAS, Va. — Those waiting to see if Manassas will raise taxes to support it’s 2018 capital improvement plan must wait until at least Wednesday.
Mayor Hal Parrish II on Monday said new information about the budget had come to light, and that it would be distributed to council members for review. Parrish told reporters that he had details on what the information was but he didn’t want to “preempt” the rest of the council members.
