More than 30 Virginia craft breweries, artisan distilleries, and Virginia wineries will be on tap at the second annual Workhouse Brewfest on Saturday, August 12, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton, Virginia (9601 Ox Road, Lorton, 22079). We visited Jitterbugs Ice Cream Cafe about 3 o’clock Saturday afternoon. We had just come from a whiskey tasting and needed some lunch, and I knew the place offered hot dogs and ice cream — the perfect thing for a hot summer day.

Funds will be allocated to support a wide variety of environmental science and natural resources conservation programs that are coordinated by the nonprofit organization.

Following a June firehouse primary where she won her party’s nomination, Vannoy had yet to complete her initial campaign paperwork filing with the city’s General Registrar’s office.

“Shooting Investigation – On June 17 at approximately 11:17 pm, officers responded to a residence located in the 12000 block of Cinnamon St in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a shooting. Officers arrived at the home and located the victim, a 36-year-old man from Woodbridge, suffering from a gunshot wound to the lower body.
