From the Prince William police press release:

Attempted Carjacking – On March 12 at 7:50PM, officers responded to the 14400 block of Potomac Mills Rd in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate an attempted carjacking. The victim, a 62-year-old woman, reported to police that she was walking back to her vehicle in the parking lot after purchasing items inside of a nearby store when she saw an unknown man leaning against her vehicle. When the victim got into her vehicle, the suspect opened the passenger side door and attempted to grab the victim’s keys. A struggle ensued and the victim was eventually able to push the suspect out of the vehicle. The victim then ran back into the nearby store for help and the accused fled the area on foot. While officers were investigating the incident, a call was received concerning an unknown man attempting to open vehicle doors at the nearby Best Western. When officers arrived, they located the accused and detained him without incident. Further investigation by officers determined that the accused was intoxicated. No injuries were reported and no property was taken. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Franklin MIRANDA, was arrested without incident.

Sexual Assault Investigation – On March 12 at 6:00PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 14400 block of Belvedere Dr in Woodbridge (22193) to locate a missing juvenile from King George County. As officers attempted to make contact at the front door, an unknown man, later identified as the accused, attempted to flee out a back door. Officers quickly detained the accused without incident and made contact with the missing juvenile, a 12-year-old girl, inside of the residence. Upon further investigation, detectives with the Special Victims Unit determined that the victim and the accused met over the social media app “Instagram.” The accused responded to the victim’s residence in King George County on March 12 and brought her back to the residence on Belvedere Dr. During the encounter, detectives determined that the accused had an inappropriate relationship with the victim. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Tyquan Bernard STONEY, was arrested.

Commercial Burglary – On March 13 at 6:06AM, officers responded to the ABC store located at 7555 Linton Hall Rd in Gainesville (20155) to investigate an alarm activation. When officers arrived, they discovered that the front glass door was damaged. Video surveillance revealed that an unknown male broke the glass door and entered the business around 6:04AM. The suspect took several bottles of alcohol before fleeing the business on foot. A police K-9 searched for the suspect who was not located. The investigation continues.

Residential Burglary | Attempted Robbery | Strangulation | Domestic Related – On March 13 at 2:50AM, officers responded to an apartment located in the 3200 block of Ridge View Ct in Woodbridge (22192) to investigate a burglary. The investigation revealed that the victim, a 32-year-old woman of Woodbridge, was involved in a verbal altercation with the accused, an acquaintance, which escalated. During the encounter, the victim asked the accused to leave her apartment. The accused exited the apartment and the victim locked the front door. A short time later, the accused began knocking on the door. When the victim refused to open the door, the accused kicked it open. As the victim was calling police, the accused attempted to take her cell phone. The accused then grabbed the victim by the hair, pulled her to the ground, and choked her. The parties eventually separated and the accused fled the apartment prior to officers arriving. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, a detective with the Property Crimes Unit obtained multiple arrest warrants for the accused, identified as Christopher Maurice GILLETTE. Attempts to locate the accused have been unsuccessful. The investigation continues.

Felony Child Neglect – On March 8 at 9:20PM, officers responded to the Days Inn located at 16925 Old Stage Rd in Dumfries (22025) to investigate an unknown situation. Officers arrived and could hear an unknown female yelling for help and a baby crying inside one of the rooms. After numerous attempts to make contact with the female inside the room, she eventually opened the door. Officers quickly determined she was under the influence of an unknown narcotic. Upon entering the room, a 3-month-old child was located in a car seat in the bathroom in close proximity to drug paraphernalia. Officers detained the accused and requested fire and rescue personnel to examine the child. No injuries were reported. A search warrant was subsequently executed on the room and narcotics were recovered. Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Tiffany La Shawn CLEVELAND, was arrested. Child Protective Services was notified and released the child into the custody of another family member.

Armed Robberies *ARRESTS – On March 5, detectives from the Robbery Unit identified two suspects involved in two separate robberies that occurred at the Rimpal Inn and Suites located on Old Centreville Rd on December 5, 2017, and the Holiday Inn located on Balls Ford Rd on December 7, 2017. Following the investigation, detectives obtained multiple arrest warrants of both suspects, identified as Brendon M. PAINE and Robert Jamal JACKSON. On March 8, PAINE was arrested without incident following the execution of a search warrant at his residence in Fairfax. Further investigation determined that the firearm used in the robberies was recovered when JACKSON was arrested on December 13 following a traffic stop for a traffic violation. JACKSON remains incarcerated at the Adult Detention Center and was served with the additional charges.

Strong-Armed Robbery *ARREST – On March 9, detectives with the Robbery Unit were able to review video surveillance of the robbery that occurred on March 7 at the Taco Bell located at 17380 Dumfries Rd in the Town of Dumfries. Upon viewing the video, patrol officers were able to identify the suspect as Carlos Alberto BENSUSAN who had been arrested on March 8 for an unrelated burglary that occurred at the Vavoline in Woodbridge on March 7. Following the investigation, the accused was charged and remains incarcerated at the Adult Detention Center.
