PRINCE WILLAM COUNTY — (Press release) The Prince William County School Board has approved the School Division’s $1.24 billion budget for the Fiscal Year 2020.
It’s an increase of about four percent over the previous year’s budget.
PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY — (Press release) Shooting Investigation — On March 20 at 10:13AM, officers responded to the 4000 block of Marjon Ct. in Dumfries for a shooting in progress. Officers arrived and secured the scene. Officers located one man and one woman, both adults, shot within the residence.
The condition of the two shot is not being disclosed at this time.
GAINESVILLE — (Press release) Zoës Kitchen, a fast-casual restaurant serving fresh, made-from-scratch Mediterranean dishes, is continuing its expansion with the opening of its twenty-third location in Virginia. Zoës Kitchen Gainesville will open on Monday, March 25 and is located at 5035 Wellington Road in Gainesville.
The new restaurant will feature a menu that aims to take a fresh approach to classic favorites, including a few new spotlights: the Avocado Lentil and the Modern Greek Salads, custom dressing options for Zoës’ popular kabobs, and a new spicy roasted turkey sandwich.
WOODBRIDGE — (Press release) Local officials will sound tornado warning tones on Tuesday as part of a statewide drill.
“Tornadoes can happen anytime, anywhere in Virginia, they don’t have a season,” states Acting Chief Tim Keen of the Prince William County Fire and Rescue System. “Knowing what to do during a tornado warning can save your life.”
MANASSAS — Paving crews will be out at the intersection of Signal Hill Road and Signal Hill Avenue this week.
It’s a key intersection along Manassas’ busy Liberia Avenue corridor that is home to multiple restaurants, a supermarket, and a Walmart.
STAFFORD — (Press release) The body of a missing male subject was found in the Rappahannock River late on Thursday night. The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the incident.
On March 14, 2019, at approximately 10:58 p.m., units responded to reports of a body found in the Rappahannock River. Two fishermen had observed what appeared to be a body floating in the river near the Little Falls boat ramp and immediately reported it to law enforcement.
FALMOUTH — (Press release) The body of a teen killed Prince Georges County, Md. was driven and dumped on River Road.
On Saturday, March 9, 2019, at approximately 4:50 a.m., a deputy with the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office was driving down River Road when he observed an unknown object in the area between the road and the Rappahannock River. He exited his vehicle and realized upon closer inspection that the object was the body of a male subject. He also observed signs of trauma to the body.
