WOODBRIDGE — (Press Release) In an effort to further enhance communications during emergencies, the Prince William Service Authority is turning to what some consider “old school” technology.

Last month, the Service Authority signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Prince William County Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES). The organization, which partnered with the County government after 9/11, consists of 31 licensed amateur radio operators who contribute their qualifications and equipment during disasters.


WOODBRIDGE — (Press Release) Malicious Wounding, on December 10 at 1:04AM, officers responded to El?Pulgarcito Grill located at 1306 Horner Rd in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate an?assault.

The investigation revealed that the accused, a customer, became intoxicated?and was involved in a physical altercation with two servers. During the encounter, the?accused allegedly struck one of the servers in the face then grabbed a broken glass?bottle and cut her on the wrist.

TRIANGLE (Press Release) – As part of its ongoing efforts to address aging park infrastructure and improve future visitor experiences, Prince William Forest Park will increase its per vehicle entrance fee to $15 on January 1, 2019.  In 2020, the park will increase all entrance fees to meet nationwide standards.

 “The new entrance fees will help us tackle backlogged maintenance and repair projects,” Superintendent Tanya Gossett said.  “As our visitation grows, the wear and tear on the park’s infrastructure increase. We want Prince William Forest Park to continue to be your favorite place to relax and enjoy well-maintained trails, clean and comfortable campgrounds, sturdy and scenic bridges and the park’s many other amenities.”


WOODBRIDGE – (Press Release) On December 4 at 12:11PM, investigators with the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the intersection of Opitz Blvd and River Walk Way in Woodbridge (22191) to investigate a two-vehicle crash. The investigation revealed that the driver of a 2008 Toyota Camry was attempting to make a left turn onto southbound River Walk Way from westbound Opitz Blvd when the vehicle collided with a 2016 Hyundai Genesis which was traveling eastbound on Opitz Blvd. The driver of the Genesis was transported to an area hospital where he later died as a result of his injuries on December 6. The driver of the Camry sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Speed, alcohol, and drug use are not factors in the collision. Charges are pending. The investigation continues.
