Dale City LIGHTNING named 2019 National Track and Field Club of the Year

DALE CITY — (Press Release) The Dale City “LIGHTNING” Track Club (DCTC) was named the 2019 National Track and Field Club of the Year by the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU).

The award was based on the team’s outstanding success and merit working with today’s youth and tomorrow’s stars. The award was presented during the AAU 2019 National Junior Olympic Games held in Greensboro, N.C.  The 2019 National Junior Olympic games had over 13,000 youth participants, making the event the largest youth track and field event in the world.

Truslow Road bridge inspected after I-95 crash, reopened

STAFFORD — A crash on Interstate 95 on Wednesday morning forced crews to inspect a highway overpass in Stafford County.

A portion of Truslow Road that crosses the interstate highway via the American Legion Road Bridge was closed to traffic for about two hours.

Man urinated on mailbox near Park Ridge Elementary School, sheriff’s office reports

STAFFORD COUNTY — (Press Release) A suspect was arrested on Monday by deputies with the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office after he was observed urinating on a mailbox and subsequently fled on foot from deputies.

On August 5, 2019, at approximately 5:49 p.m., Deputy Gordon responded to reports of a suspicious person in the area of Regency Drive, near Park Ridge Elementary School. A man subject was seen urinating on a mailbox and a sign.

Man accused of throwing hammer at car

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY — (Press Release)  On August 2 at 8:23 a.m., officers responded to the area near Hoadly Rd. and Dumfries Rd. in Manassas (20112) to investigate a fight.

The victim, a 35-year-old man, reported to police that he and an acquaintance, identified as the accused, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. The investigation revealed that the victim was attempting to leave the area in his vehicle when the accused drove his own vehicle aggressively towards the victim.
