Those interested in forming a neighborhood watch program on their streets are encouraged to attend training on Dec. 9, 2019, at 7 p.m.

Learn how to work with the Police Department to keep your neighborhood safe, or to make it safer. Members of current Neighborhood Watch programs are welcome to attend. Topics covered include crime reporting, burglary prevention, Neighborhood Watch guidelines and a Q&A session.


Police said a woman who was high on marijuana drove into a crash scene near Braddock Road on Thanksgiving morning.

At 7:43 a.m. Thursday (Nov. 28), as Virginia State Police were still investigating and working to clear the multi-vehicle crashes (same one caused by the wrong-way DUI driver at 3 a.m.) in the northbound lanes of I-495 in Fairfax County, a vehicle drove into the closed-off scene at the 52 mile marker.

Rappahannock River users are advised that a portage will be in place beginning Monday, Dec. 2 to accommodate bridge construction as part of the Interstate 95 Southbound Rappahannock River Crossing project.
