Wilmington, Del. –– Steven Souza’s red-hot bat very nearly led the Potomac Nationals to a victory in their first road game of the season, but the bullpen betrayed the P-Nats in a 5-4 set back in Wilmington.

Souza’s second triple of the season in the sixth inning cleared the bases and staked the P-Nats to a 4-1 lead, but Potomac’s relief pitchers surrendered four runs in the seventh and the Blue Rocks held on to win their home opener in front of a capacity crowd on a chilly Friday night.

North Stafford, Va. –– About 10 people showed up last night to participate in Stafford County’s mandatory political redistricting process. At the meeting held at North Stafford High School, many who spoke were concerned that the Aquia Harbour neighborhood is being split up.

Woodbridge, Va. –– It’s time once again for the annual 10K Kyle Wilson Walk for Fitness.

The event will be held again this year at 9 a.m. Saturday C.D. Hylton High School in Woodbridge, and if turnout is anything like it was last year, this year’s event could attract hundreds of participants.

Police said the 46-year-old man from Alexandria met his attacker at East Coast Billiards on U.S. 1 in Woodbridge on December 3.

Afterward, the two men went back to the home of the alleged attacker –– who police say is an illegal immigrant –– in the 14100 block of Franklin Street in Woodbridge where the victim was stabbed multiple times in the chest, said Prince William police spokeswoman Michelle Nemerow.
