Incidents at eatery get police attention
The owners of F.W. Sullivan’s Old Town Bar and Grille in downtown Fredericksburg will meet with city police officials this afternoon to discuss how to avoid future problems, reports Fredericksburg.com.

Orrock wants expansion of distracted-driver law
Eating a hamburger, fiddling with the iPod or putting on lipstick while driving could be illegal under a bill from Del. Bobby Orrock, Fredericksburg.com reports.

Emergency at 6:20 a.m. crews were called to Joshua Road and St. Adams Drive after a Pontiac driven by a 56-year-old man lost control of this car and collided with a Hyundai Accent driven by a 49-year-old man.

Fire and rescue crews were able to extract one man who was trapped inside his car, said Stafford fire and rescue Executive Officer Mark Doyle.

Lake Ridge, Va. — Those pulling into the drive through at a McDonalds restaurant in Lake Ridge could be in for a surprise when they find the fast food joint closed for renovations.

The work here has been going on for the better part of the month. It comes after several other McDonalds locations in the Potomac Communities have been renovated.

The Lorton Arts Foundation is pleased to announce the inaugural season of its own Workhouse Theatre. Based in the Workhouse Arts Center’s newly renovated building W-3, it is one of only three professional theater companies in Northern Virginia. Workhouse Theatre will launch its season with the play ART from January 20-February 26, 2012.

ART, a play that raises questions about art and friendship, concerns three long-time friends, Serge, Marc and Yvan. Serge buys a large, expensive and completely white painting. Marc is horrified, and their relationship suffers considerably as a result of their differing opinions about what constitutes “art”.

The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office was recognized by the International Association of Chiefs of Police for excellence in two areas. The Stafford Sheriff’s Office was presented a trophy as a finalist in the international Webber Seavey Award.

Metrorail extension gets $116M federal funding
The Metrorail extension project will get another $116 million in federal funding this week, Virginia Congressional members announced, reports The Washington Business Journal.


The suspect was arrested Tuesday. Prince William police said they stopped the suspect during a traffic stop near his home in the 13700 block of Palm Road in Dale City.

Police searched the suspect’s home, and at a home of a suspect’s acquaintance at 5016 Barnacle Place in Dumfries, and found evidence pertaining to a Jan. 13 shooting into a home in the 2500 block of Oak Tree Lane in Dumfries, Prince William police report.
